We Became 5th In Wind Tribunes Equipment Manufacturing
Turkey became 5th in Europe according to the ranking of wind industry sector firms that operate in Europe.
Throughout Europe, the manufacturers of the biggest wind tribunes equipment are respectively; Germany (82 plants), Spain (41 plants), Italy (17 plants), Denmark (13 plants) and Turkey (8 plants), then Turkey is followed by England, Holland and Portuguese (7 plants).
According to the European Wind Energy and Economic Recovery in Europe Report developed by the top institution that represents wind energy sector in Europe, European Wind Energy Association (Wind Europe), created employment in the European wind energy industry for 300000 people, 75% for offshore, 25% for onshore last year.
The biggest 5 wind turbine manufacturers of the world are based in Europe. This year, the volume of the global wind turbine in the market reached up to 50 billion €. Europe with 31% and China with 45% hosts 800 manufacturing plants.
“Turkey’s wind capital is Izmir”
The installed power in Turkey is in İzmir with the percentage of 20, and 40 from Izmir’s surroundings. The total amount of the installed power producing power from wind power’s share reached up to 10 percentage in 2020.
İzmir Development Agency’s (İZKA) General Secretary Mehmet Yavuz reported that Turkey is taking important steps in the fields of clean energy and clean technologies in the direction of Turkey’s European Union Sustainable Development Targets and 11th National Development Plan and İZKA continues to strengthen İzmir’s wind industrial sector’s position and competitiveness.
