Türkiye's First Biomass Ideathon was held in İzmir

Türkiye's first Biomass Energy Ideathon was held at Ege University between 14 - 15 May. The PROSES Team won the "BEST For Biomass" open innovation competition, which was organized within the BEST For Energy Project; aims to make our country a production center in the clean energy sector and to ensure İzmir's smart specialization in the clean energy and clean technology sector, with the "SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE IN MY HOME" Project.
 
On the first day of the event, Altaca Energy Chairman of the Board Alper ÖNOĞLU, Diesel Energy Co-Founder Emre ELMAS, and New Green Har Founder Tolga ŞARLAYAN gave information on the importance of Biomass Energy. While the participants worked in teams to produce innovative ideas and applicable solutions for 24 hours, industry companies and academicians contributed to the groups with mentorship support.
 
On the second day of the event, the innovative projects prepared by the 16 teams participating in the Ideathon competition to increase the use of biomass resources with easy access and high energy potential were presented to jury assessment.
 
The PROSES team won the first prize with their "SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE AT MY HOME" project, the CATALYTIC GREEN ENERGY" team won the second prize with their "RENEWABLE GREEN HYDROGEN GENERATION SYSTEM," and ENERMASS team won the third prize with their "ELECTRICITY FROM COFFEE GRIND" project.
 
The awards were given to the winning teams by Ege University BESTMER Director Prof. Dr. Günnur KOÇAR, İzmir Development Agency ISO Coordinator H.İ.Murat ÇELİK, and ENSİA Vice Chairman Murat GÜLER.
